RIP Twitch

I never met him, I wish I had. But this one is hitting me hard. I keep reading that he was a ray of light … he and his wife danced their hearts out, he brought the tunes to Ellen’s show and yet he was suffering behind that radiant smile.

Similar to too many others, he left our world far too soon, leaving so many asking why. I too have experienced great loss and it hurts … so bad.

To quote Glennon Doyle who shared The Great Warsan Shire’s words, “you have to understand ... no one (leaves home) unless the water is safer than the land.”

For those of us on land may we not be afraid to ask “are you ok?” and for those that need support, please don’t be afraid to reach out for help - to trust in someone, anyone - often times those demons are too tough to fight alone.

We must break down whatever stigmas and barriers are associated with mental health and be ok with not being ok.
